Job summary

A-TEK, Inc. is seeking a qualified molecular testing technician to perform non-research testing of samples for potential biological threat agents. You will ensure correct processing with chain of custody and prep reports.

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in microbiology or related sciences, at least one year of lab bench experience with PCR and aseptic techniques, and eligibility to work in the U.S. on a federal contract; a pre-employment drug screen applies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related biological sciences.
• At least one year of laboratory bench experience with PCR, aseptic techniques and biological assays.
• Federal contract requires valid Green Card or US Citizenship at the time of application.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-research molecular testing of samples for potentially containing biological threat agents.
• Ensure incoming samples are processed with chain of custody and prepare reports; troubleshoot and advise supervisor.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment safely, including routine calibrations and adjustments.
• Laboratory operations are conducted daily; weekends and holidays are rotated to ensure daily results, with extended hours during public health emergencies.
• Pre-employment drug screening is a requirement.
