Job summary

Amentum seeks a lab technician to support surge operations in Virginia. The role involves handling samples that may contain biological threat agents, performing PCR-based analyses, and maintaining QA/QC in a GLP environment.

A Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of lab bench experience are required. BSL-3 experience is desirable, and candidates must be able to report to the lab 24/7 for emergencies, including holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, molecular biology, or related biological sciences with at least 1 year of bench lab experience outside of academia.
• Experience with PCR, aseptic techniques, and biological assays is required.
• BSL-3 experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Handle, receive, and process samples potentially containing biological threat agents.
• Perform non-research biological work using microbiology/molecular techniques, including DNA extraction and real-time PCR.
• Prepare reagents and samples; maintain GLP compliance and QA/QC documentation.
