The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay seeks a Community Intervention Specialist to provide crisis counseling and referrals via phone, chat, and in person. You will assist with safety planning, follow-up coordination, and advocacy for victims of crime from diverse backgrounds.

Role requires HIPAA knowledge, strong communication, and ability to work flexible hours including holidays. Training in trauma-informed care and ASIST is provided within timelines.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a human service-related field or one year crisis experience.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with diverse cultural, socioeconomic, and mental health backgrounds.
• Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to type at least 50 WPM.
• Completion of essential crisis and trauma-informed trainings within indicated timelines.

Responsabilités

• Provide crisis counseling via telephone, chat, and in-person as needed.
• Offer information and referrals with strong advocacy for clients.
• Apply crisis intervention, safety planning, and suicide lethality assessment.
• Demonstrate de-escalation, active listening, and motivational interviewing techniques.
• Maintain accurate call documentation and meet performance expectations in QA metrics.
