The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking a Community Intervention Specialist to provide crisis counseling and information/referral services via telephone, chat, and in-person as needed. The CIS will conduct crisis intervention, safety planning, and connect clients to follow‑up care, while advocating for crime victims and coordinating referrals.

Confidentiality and mandated reporter responsibilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a human service-related field; or one year counseling/crisis intervention experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals facing trauma and life challenges.

Responsabilités

• Provide crisis counseling and information/referral services via telephone, chat, and in-person as needed.
• Deliver crisis intervention, safety planning, and linkage to follow-up care.
• Advocate for primary and secondary victims of crime and coordinate referrals.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure data quality and confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Demonstrate de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and active listening during crisis contacts.
• Work flexible hours, including holidays and during disasters, to support service coverage.
