Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking an Intervention Specialist to provide crisis counseling and referrals via phone, text, chat, and in person. The role includes safety checks and follow-up coordination for individuals in mental health crisis or trauma.

You will report to the Contact Center Supervisor and support diverse community members. Responsibilities include delivering exceptional customer service, delivering information and referrals, and maintaining thorough call documentation.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a human service-related field OR one year counseling/crisis intervention experience.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfort with diverse populations and flexibility are essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact and link community members to services.
• Provide crisis counseling and information/referrals; assist with safety checks and follow-up coordination.
• Demonstrate de-escalation skills and maintain accurate call documentation.
