Job summary

Great River Health in West Burlington, IA is seeking a Crisis Interventionist to support patients with mental health needs and other related issues. You will perform rapid stabilization, triage, psychosocial assessments, and coordinate care with the Treatment Team and community resources.

This role emphasizes de-escalation, brief counseling, and discharge planning, with scheduled hours 3:30pm–2:00am and every other weekend. MOAB training is required within the first year.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences or Social Work or similar field; MOAB training preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Arts/Sciences or Social Work or similar field; required or preferred depending on role.
• 4–6 years in mental health or social work settings and MOAB training within first opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Crisis stabilization of patients.
• Assist in de-escalation of agitated patients.
• Implement intervention techniques for individuals.
• Advocate for clients or patients to resolve crises.
• Collaborate with professionals to evaluate medical or physical condition and assess client needs.
• Refer patients to community resources for recovery and access to services.
• Provide accurate psychosocial screenings and maintain thorough documentation.
• Communicate with the Treatment Team about disposition of patients in the Emergency Department or Medical Center.
• Engage in timely, efficient patient disposition with nursing staff and physicians.
