Job summary

Great River Health Systems seeks a Crisis Interventionist to provide direct support for individuals with mental illnesses, utilizing intervention strategies for rapid stabilization, de-escalation, and therapeutic mediation.

The role includes conducting triage/psychosocial screenings, gathering collateral information, and coordinating care to address immediate needs within the Behavioral Health Assessment Team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Social Work or equivalent from an accredited program.
• Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
• MOAB training/certification within 1 year of hire.
• 4–6 years experience in mental health/social work settings.
• Knowledge of mental health assessment and treatment.
• Knowledge of group behavior and dynamics, ethnicity, cultures and their history.

Responsibilities

• Crisis stabilization of patients.
• Assist in de-escalation of agitated patients.
• Implement intervention techniques for individuals.
• Advocate for clients to resolve crises.
• Collaborate with professionals to evaluate patients' condition and needs.
• Refer to community resources for recovery and access to services.
• Provide accurate psychosocial screenings in a timely manner.
• Display quality interviewing, diagnostic and report-writing skills.
• Communicate with Treatment Team on patient disposition.
• Document progress notes and screenings per procedures.
