Job summary

SOME (So Others Might Eat) in Washington, DC is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support Jordan House (Crisis Stabilization) and Mary Claire clients. The role covers 24-hour shifts on two days per week, with intake, care coordination, and crisis management under clinical supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring wellbeing, coordinating with external providers and RN/psych, maintaining documentation, and supporting client activities to enhance skills and social ties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 1-2 years with mental health or social work experience preferred.
• DC license required if degree is in Social Work.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect intake information to determine admission eligibility and complete intake with each client.
• Monitor client wellbeing and report unusual behavior to licensed staff.
• Provide care coordination with external providers and internal RN/psych.
• Manage crises over 24 hours and de-escalate or refer as needed.
• Engage clients to develop work skills and participate in therapeutic activities.
• Complete required clinical documentation.
• Oversee client medication and monitor side effects.
