So Others Might Eat Inc. (SOME) is seeking a Behavioral Health Technician to support Jordan House, a 24-hour crisis stabilization program in Washington, DC.

The role involves mental health interventions, service coordination, and facilitating daily living activities for adults experiencing psychiatric crisis and homelessness. The position follows two 24-hour shifts weekly, with supervision from licensed professionals and collaboration with RN and psychology staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; 1-2 years' experience with mental health or social work settings.
• DC license required if the bachelor's degree is in Social Work.
• Driver's License and CPR/First Aid certifications required.

Responsabilités

• Collect information to determine admission eligibility and complete intake with each client.
• Monitor client physical and emotional well-being and report unusual behavior to licensed staff.
• Provide care coordination with external providers on basic needs, housing, and mental health support.
• Manage client crises over 24 hours and de-escalate or refer to appropriate care.
• Engage clients to develop work skills and participate in therapeutic activities.
• Complete required clinical documentation.
• Oversee client medication adherence and monitor side effects.
