Abigail's Arms Cooke County Family Crisis Center is seeking a compassionate, part-time Residential Support staffer for its 24-hour Emergency Shelter. The role focuses on crisis intervention and advocacy for hotline callers and shelter residents, with duties including rounds, security checks, and data entry.

The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting, can multitask, and collaborates with shelter staff.

Qualifications

• Experience providing crisis intervention and advocacy in a shelter or similar setting.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Ability to multitask and work in a high-intensity environment.
• Comfort with using a proprietary database and basic computer tools.

Responsibilities

• Attend trainings, staff meetings, and other management updates.
• Be available and present for clients during your shift.
• Review agency policies and procedures.
• Communicate clearly via phone, email, and in person.
• Perform hourly rounds and check doors, windows, and exits.
• Keep spaces tidy: rooms, lockers, bathrooms, and common areas.
• Document hotline follow-ups within 15 minutes of calls.
• Enter case notes and services in the agency database.
• Support shelter updates, moves, and room changes.
• Assist with supplies, cleaning, and other duties as assigned.
