Job summary

Gulf Coast Jewish Family And Community Services, Inc. is seeking a Community Navigator to respond to crisis situations and work with the St. Petersburg Police Department to support adults, children, and families.

The role involves engagement, counseling, referrals, and linking clients to resources to prevent ongoing crises. The Navigator will assess risk, coordinate with providers, transport clients when needed, and assist with connecting individuals to housing, employment, and other services.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a human services or related field.
• Experience in crisis intervention, mental health, or substance abuse preferred.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person response to active 911 calls for adults, children, families and support networks.
• Assess risk to self/others and care ability.
• Provide information, referral, and follow-up for services (counseling, housing, employment, etc.).
• Coordinate with police and community providers to meet client needs.
• Transport clients to hospitals, shelters, appointments and other settings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
