Job summary

Zepf Center in Toledo, Ohio, is seeking a Full-time Mental Health Technician for our Emergency Services department. The role supports crisis assessment, outreach, and coordination with clinicians, case managers, and community programs, with on-site care and field visits.

Position includes a $5,000 sign-on bonus, five 8-hour night shifts (12:00am-8:00am) per week, rotating weekends and holidays. Must meet Ohio Medicaid qualifications and hold a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Must be eligible to be a qualified mental health specialist by Ohio Medicaid.
• High School Diploma
• Bachelor's degree in a related field OR at least three years' work experience in mental health
• Least three years' work experience in mental health
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be eligible to drive company vehicles and be eligible for coverage as defined by the agency commercial insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Gathers collateral data at the scene and over the phone to help resolve crisis within the community.
• Provides outreach service including crisis intervention.
• Accompanies clinician health officers in pre-hospital screening with clients in the community.
• Works with patient’s primary psychiatrist/provider, case manager and/or counselor.
• Facilitates the care of clients in consultation with the Mental Health Professional/Health Officer, patient’s primary case manager, counselor or medical provider.
• Makes phone calls and coordinates services.
• Provides one-on-one assistance to clients and families, monitors behavior and mental status at the crisis scene, and documents services in client charts.
• Answers the Hotline and provides information and referrals to community services.
• Runs intake board and coordinates outreach runs between emergency services, outreach, CACSU, CSU and Helpline.
• Transports clients to and from community sites as needed.
