Job summary

Heritage Behavioral Health Center is hiring an Engagement Specialist for the Community Crisis Response team in Decatur, IL. This part-time role (3rd shift, 11pm–7am) offers peer support, advocacy, and linkage to services through in-person, virtual, and phone-based support.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must self-identify as having lived experience with a mental health and/or substance use condition.
• CRSS certification required within 12 months of hire.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support via in-person, telephone, and virtual sessions.
• Serve as role model, mentor, and advocate for clients.
• Assist individuals in navigating mental health and community resources.
• Participate in team-based response to individuals in crisis.
• Provide assertive outreach and engagement with clients.
• Deliver case management services to assist individuals in accessing ongoing treatment.
• Maintain relationships with referral partners and community providers.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including case managers, crisis staff, counselors, and leaders.
