Heritage Behavioral Health Center, Inc. in Decatur, IL is seeking compassionate Crisis Counselors to join our Crisis Care Team.

These full-time roles provide life-changing support to individuals in mental health or substance use crises in community settings including emergency departments, agencies, and client homes. The Crisis Care program offers timely assessment, de-escalation, counseling, linkage to services, and aftercare; responsibilities include inpatients linkage and collaboration with

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a human services, social work, psychology, education, or related field.
• QMHP licensure must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Experience in crisis services strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face, phone, and virtual crisis intervention in a timely, supportive manner.
• Work with children, adolescents, and adults across a wide range of crisis situations.
• Link individuals admitted to inpatient settings to community supports.
• Assist with involuntary admission processes at the Macon County Court.
• Complete pre-admission screenings for nursing facility referrals.
• Maintain relationships with referral sources and partner agencies.
• Collaborate with crisis teams, case managers, counselors, psychiatric providers, and leaders for coordinated care.
