Hopes Door in Garland, TX seeks a Shelter Crisis Advocate to provide crisis line support and direct assistance to residents in the Garland and Plano shelters. You will promote safety, empowerment and mental health through advocacy, crisis intervention and support services.

Valid Texas driver's license, ability to travel to multiple sites, willingness to work weekends and holidays, and confidentiality are essential; experience with domestic violence clients desirable.

Formación

• High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Crisis counseling knowledge desirable.
• Knowledge of social service/mental health desirable.
• Respond constructively to adults and children in crisis.
• Sensitive to diverse cultural/ethnic backgrounds.
• One-year experience with domestic violence victims desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Provides crisis interventions via 24-hour Crisis Line during assigned shift.
• Maintains client files and records in Salesforce and hard copies.
• Daily updates in the log throughout shift.
• Conducts client intakes and exits as needed.
• Arrange emergency transportation as needed.
• Share client concerns with appropriate staff.
• Trains and collaborates with Shelter volunteers on shift.
