Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, criminal justice or related field.
• One year experience in crisis intervention, critical incident, and/or victims services.
• Knowledge of crisis intervention theory and related counseling approaches.
• Knowledge of laws pertaining to victims of violent crime and rights under law enforcement.
• Knowledge of community resources and support services for victims.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention/counseling to victims of violent crime in person or by phone.
• Review police reports to determine level of service needed.
• Maintain case notes, documentation, data entry, and assist victims with paperwork on scene and in the office.
• Develop alternative solutions and recommendations for decisions.
