Job summary

City of Colorado Springs seeks a Victim Advocate to provide direct services to crime victims and witnesses encountered by CSPD. The role includes crisis intervention, case review, and referrals, with coordination across justice and community programs.

The position is grant-funded with potential for growth; strong English communication and computer skills are essential. Applicants must have a related bachelor's degree and a Colorado driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (criminal justice, behavioral sciences, social sciences)
• One year of full-time professional experience with victims of violent crime preferred
• Valid Colorado driver's license without current restrictions upon hire

Responsibilities

• Provide on-call crisis intervention and emotional support to crime victims 24/7
• Review case reports to identify victims and contact them to offer services
• Provide high-quality follow-up support and referrals to resources
• Coordinate services with criminal justice and community programs for seamless victim transition
• Inform victims of their rights under relevant victim rights acts
• Assist with crime victim compensation applications when applicable
• Maintain data for tracking and grant reporting
• Assist with grant applications and reporting
