Job summary

The City of Austin is seeking a Victim Services Supervisor for the Sex Crimes Unit to oversee counselors, promote clinical skills, and coordinate daily work, including staffing and supervision.

You will develop goals, manage budgets, participate in grants, and provide incident command leadership during disasters. This role requires strong supervisory and clinical expertise within a public safety context.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health-related field plus five (5) years of clinical mental health counseling and crisis management experience.
• At least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory capacity.
• Licenses such as Social Worker, Professional Counselor, or Marriage and Family Therapist may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and coordinates daily activities of counselors in the Victim Services Counseling Program.
• Promotes development of clinical skills, therapeutic frameworks, and modalities through supervision.
• Determines goals, objectives, and resource needs for Victim Services programs; participates in budget and grant tasks.
• Provides incident command leadership for critical incidents and disasters.
• Assigns projects, schedules, and monitors task completion; evaluates program effectiveness.
