Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, Human Services, or related field preferred.
• Minimum six months’ experience in social services.
• Experience in crisis intervention or behavioral health settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Receives and triages calls from MetroSafe callers to Behavioral Health Hub.
• Provides crisis and suicide intervention over the phone; connects to mobile crisis when needed.
• Documents and maintains thorough records of telephone interventions.
• Assesses situations, de-escalates, builds rapport, and develops crisis plans.
• Coordinates follow-up interventions and referrals to appropriate care.
• Works with law enforcement, families, and community resources to resolve crises.
• Communicates timely information while protecting privacy and dignity.
• Attends staff and team meetings and participates in a trauma-informed approach.
