Job summary

Centerstone in Illinois seeks a Crisis Counselor to deliver emergency crisis intervention and consultation to clients, families, and community partners. The role includes crisis assessments, stabilization, and linkage to ongoing services, with documentation completed per agency standards.

You will work under the Crisis Coordinator or Crisis Manager, participate in cross-functional teams, and help ensure 24/7 coverage through on-call crisis services.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, psychiatric nursing or related field.
• Experience with clinical theory and psychiatric illness symptomology.
• Must successfully complete all required background screenings.
• Experience using electronic health records and related documentation systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis assessment and stabilization in community settings, by phone or video.
• Assist with safety planning and discharge planning and provide follow-up referrals.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain documentation in compliance with contracts, grants, standards and laws.
