Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay seeks a Community Intervention Specialist to provide crisis counseling and information/referral services via phone, chat, and in person. You will engage in crisis intervention, safety planning, and follow-up connections for clients in crisis.

You will support victims of crime and ensure confidentiality, documentation integrity, and HIPAA compliance while working with a diverse community. Flexible shifts and on-call coverage may apply.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a human service-related field OR one year counseling or crisis intervention experience in lieu of degree.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• Experience working with diverse populations and mental health background is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis counseling via telephone, chat, and in person as needed.
• Perform crisis intervention, safety planning, and suicide lethality assessment.
• Facilitate referrals for victims of crime and connect to follow-up care services.
• Maintain accurate call documentation and comply with HIPAA and confidentiality policies.
• Demonstrate de-escalation, motivational interviewing, and active listening techniques.
