Job summary

The Crisis Center of Tampa Bay is seeking an Intervention Specialist to provide crisis counseling, information and resource referrals, and short-term care coordination for victims of crime. You will conduct safety checks, offer follow-up support, and respond to mental health crises via multiple channels including phone, text, chat, and in person.

Ideal candidates have an associate degree in a human-service field or 1 year of crisis intervention experience, with Spanish bilingualism preferred.

• Associate degree in a human service field or one year crisis intervention experience.
• Spanish bilingualism preferred and helpful for diverse client populations.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced setting.
• Proficiency with basic computer systems and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service as the first point of contact with the Crisis Center of Tampa Bay and link community members with services.
• Provide information and resource referrals; offer follow up for care coordination for victims of crime.
• Handle mental and behavioral health calls on crisis hotlines using de-escalation techniques.
• Develop skills in suicide intervention and lethality assessments.
• Document calls accurately to ensure high‑quality records and data integrity.
• Participate in training and be available for off-hours assignments as needed.
