Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC seeks a Facility Based Crisis Certified Peer Support Specialist to empower individuals with mental health and substance use challenges in a community setting.

You will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to promote self-determination, recovery, and meaningful participation in community life, while advocating for client needs and delivering strength-based interventions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent is required.
• 1 year of experience working with the population supported is required.
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 continuous year as a current or former recipient of treatment and eligible for certification.
• Must complete 20 hours of training within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• CPR, first aid, and related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients to provide advice and support in accordance with a treatment plan.
• Assisting in peer support groups with assigned consumers on a regular basis.
• Supporting consumers in daily decision making and solving minor problems.
• Assisting clients in finding resources and encouraging follow-through with proposed resolutions.
• Accompanying clients to meetings and participating in community groups to advocate for consumer needs.
• Fostering development of healthy client relationships through community activities.
• Observing behavior and discussing wellbeing with clients.
• Modeling coping and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
• Providing empowerment guidance and information about community living.
• Informing clients and families about community resources and processes.
