Job summary

RHA Health Services, LLC is hiring a Facility Based Crisis Certified Peer Support Specialist to provide essential peer support within a multidisciplinary team. You will promote recovery, assist clients in decision making, and advocate for community integration while engaging in crisis response activities.

The role requires peer support certification, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to complete required trainings within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Requires Qualified Mental Health Professional Status and Peer Support certification or certificate of Peer Support supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with the supported population.
• Certified as a Peer Support Specialist or 1 year as recipient of treatment and eligible for certification.
• Must complete 20 hours of training within 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver’s license and automotive insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
• CPR, first aid, and related certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Meet with clients to provide advice and support per treatment plan.
• Facilitate peer support groups with assigned consumers regularly.
• Assist consumers in daily decision making and resolving minor problems.
• Help clients find resources and encourage follow-through.
• Accompany clients to meetings and advocate for consumer needs.
• Model coping and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
• Provide empowerment and community living guidance.
• Inform clients about community resources and how to use them.
