Job summary

RHA Health Services is seeking a Facility Based Crisis Certified Peer Support Specialist to deliver individualized peer support to individuals with mental health, substance use, and developmental needs in a facility-based setting.

You will work with a team to promote self-determination, support recovery goals, and connect clients with resources in the community, while modeling coping skills and empowerment.

Qualifications

• Qualified Mental Health Professional Status and Peer Support certification or certificate of Peer Support supervision.
• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of experience working with persons in the population served.
• Must complete training on crisis response within the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver's license and automotive insurance.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Meeting with clients to provide advice and support in accordance with a treatment plan.
• Assisting in peer support groups with assigned consumers on a regular basis.
• Supporting/assisting consumers in daily decision making and resolution of minor problems.
• Assisting clients by finding resources and encouraging follow through with proposed resolutions.
• Accompanying clients to meetings and advocating for consumer needs.
• Fostering development of healthy relationships through community activities.
• Observing well-being and discussing observations with clients.
• Modeling coping and self-help techniques for individuals or groups.
• Providing information on community resources to clients and families.

Education

Qualified Mental Health Professional Status and Peer Support certification or certificate of Peer Support supervision.
