Job summary

Texas Panhandle Centers in Amarillo, TX, is seeking full-time staff for Diversion Center roles. You will engage clients with trauma-informed, person-centered care and build rapid rapport in crisis situations.

Responsibilities include transport, meal prep, and teamwork with multidisciplinary staff to support individuals served. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, college coursework, and a valid Texas driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One semester (12 credit hours) of accredited college coursework.
• Ability to stay composed in crisis situations.
• Willingness to work with Law Enforcement, staff across programs and other stakeholders.
• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and be insurable.

Responsibilities

• Engage with individuals served at the Diversion Center using trauma-informed and person-centered approaches.
• Build rapid rapport and establish trust with clients in crisis.
• Provide trauma-informed care and maintain a safe environment.
• Assist with transport, meal preparation, and Diversion Center drop-offs as needed.
• Collaborate with Diversion Center staff and a multidisciplinary team to meet client needs.
• Adhere to the Texas Panhandle Centers’ Code of Conduct and report concerns.
