Responsibilities

• Prepares accusations when warrants or citations are received; reviews for accuracy, completeness and legality.
• Appears in court for probation revocations, bench trials, arraignments, traffic arraignments, bond hearings, drug court, and jury trials.
• Prepares for jury trials; ensures witnesses are subpoenaed; prepares plea recommendations; discusses plea negotiations with defendant’s attorneys.
• Researches case law for motions; subpoenas witnesses and argues motions.
• Provides assistance to law enforcement regarding legal questions.
• Meets with victims and families to discuss sentencing recommendations.
• Drafts appellate briefs and motions.
• Regular and predictable attendance is required.
