Qualifications

• Juris Doctorate degree required.
• Three years of relevant experience including supervisory experience.
• Membership in Georgia Bar, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court required.
• Valid Class C Driver's License and clean MVR.
• Ability to conduct bench and jury trials.
• Ability to negotiate plea arguments.
• Knowledge of professional responsibility rules.
• Ability to read advanced professional materials.
• Ability to write complex reports.
• Ability to speak to high level professional groups.
• Ability to negotiate or exchange ideas to formulate policies or decisions.
• Ability to integrate data analysis to inform decisions.

Responsibilities

• Advise Assistant Solicitors in all case matters, especially complex ones.
• Researches case law and prepares briefs.
• Draft discovery documents and responses, pleadings, motions, and judgments.
• Argue appellate motions in the Georgia Court of Appeals and Supreme Court.
• Prosecute assigned cases including Traffic and Magistrate Court.
• Interview investigating officers and witnesses.
• Train less experienced attorneys in the office.
• Regular attendance is required.
• Manage support staff as needed.
• Negotiate pleas with defense counsel.
