Job summary

The Oregon Judicial Department, Deschutes County Circuit Court in Bend, Oregon, is seeking a Court Operations Specialist (Criminal Judgment Clerk) to support judges by opening new criminal case files and scheduling hearings. You will perform data entry on pleadings, judgments, and related documents with meticulous accuracy.

You will update the electronic case management system, review cases for timing, and handle payments, diversions, and conditional discharges.

Qualifications

• Experience performing a variety of clerical or administrative support tasks, with strict deadlines in a busy business or professional setting.
• Experience using a variety of software programs to access and input information and complete various tasks.
• Experience providing customer service to a variety of individuals in challenging circumstances.
• Experience explaining processes, procedures, or policies.
• Skill in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy, content, grammar, and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Open new criminal case files and schedule same-day hearings.
• Enter pleadings, search warrants, and judgments with accuracy in the case management system.
• Update case information and monitor payment schedules for fines and fees.
• Enter information on drug/alcohol diversions and conditional discharges and track compliance dates.
• Provide customer service to attorneys, litigants, and the public in person, by phone, and in writing.
