Job summary

InformData seeks a Criminal Field Researcher to research public records and determine criminal or civil records for applicants. You will validate identities and deliver reliable background checks, ensuring accuracy and safety for client decisions.

You will build relationships with court personnel, perform index-based research, and enter results into proprietary systems with clear/not found determinations, while adhering to quality and turnaround time standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
• Typing speed minimum 35 wpm.
• Thrives in a collaborative team environment.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation communication skills.
• Daily access to reliable transportation, computer, and high-speed internet.
• Complete required introductory training.
• Available to work during courthouse hours and overtime with notice.
• Strong multi-tasking, time management and detail-oriented processes.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive working relationships with court personnel and members of the public.
• Perform research using public records indexes to retrieve relevant information.
• Accurately enter results into proprietary systems, marking them as “clear” or recording information found in the court's primary index according to client instructions.
• Notify the Supervisor about courthouse structure updates, changes in processes, or fee adjustments.
• Provide timely updates to the Supervisor on any issues that could impact business operations or customer commitments.
• Serve as a back-up for other Field Researchers within the designated area as needed.
• Support the ordering and completion of court copy requests.
• Conduct searches in surrounding areas or through online research when assigned.
