Job description

FT Crew Chief Falconer

A crew leader will be trained as an energy-efficient professional to supervise insulation installers performing retrofitting activities. Training includes classroom learning and field experience. Trainees will shadow an energy auditor and senior installer to understand client interaction and staff management protocols.

Crew leaders will learn to ensure quality control, which involves testing procedures, documentation, and conducting thorough walk-through inspections to verify all work complies with program guidelines and the auditor's scope.

Training covers knowledge and skills in:

1. OSHA standards, fall protection, personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, and power equipment safety.
2. Identifying potential mold, asbestos, and lead paint issues.
3. Retrofit techniques and building science concepts such as heat, moisture, pressure flow, ventilation, thermal and pressure boundaries, flooring systems, crawl spaces, roof framing, mechanical systems, air tightening, duct sealing, and proper insulation of crawl spaces, attics, walls, and floors.

Pay rate: $18-$30/hour depending on experience. Subject to drug screening, reference check, and criminal background check.
