Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking Creole interpreters to provide interpretation for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, and related activities. Interpreters must have daytime availability and in-person presence in the Wilmington, DE area with mileage reimbursement offered.

You may set your own schedule; candidates should be prepared for a background check and proficiency requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of professional interpreting experience.
• Documentation to show language proficiency; tests may be required if documentation is not available.
• Background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry will be required.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, mental health evaluations, and other assessments.
• Maintain daytime availability and in-person presence in the Wilmington, DE area.
• Use a computer for inputting job-related information and communicate reliably by phone.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• It is preferred that candidates possess documentation to show proficiency in languages other than English.If documentation is not available, candidates might be asked to complete a proficiency test.
• Candidates MUST have at least 1 year of professional interpreting experience on their resume.Language proficiency alone is NOT sufficient. Volunteer interpreting for a school or church or interpreting for family/friends is NOT sufficient.
• Must be willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
• Must have reliable phone service for contact.
• Must be comfortable with using computer for job input.
