Back to Basics Learning Dynamics is seeking part-time, in-person interpreters to interpret for parents at Birth to Three with Therapist, parent-teacher conferences, and School IEP meetings, with daytime availability.

The immediate need is Creole language proficiency. Location is Dover, DE area, with in-person assignments. Benefits include a flexible schedule and the ability to choose jobs, with an expected workload of about 10–15 hours per week.

Qualifications

• One year of professional interpreting experience required.
• Must pass background checks (Federal, State, Child Abuse Registry).
• Flexible daytime hours—minimum 3 daytime hours, 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Interpret for parents at Birth to Three with Therapist, parent-teacher conferences, School IEP meetings, etc.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• It is preferred that candidates possess documentation to show proficiency in languages other than English.If documentation is not available, candidates might be asked to complete a proficiency test.
• Hours: minimum of 3 daytime hours 2 x a week
• Candidates MUST have at least 1 year of professional interpreting experience on their resume.Language proficiency alone isNOTsufficient. Volunteer interpreting for a school or church or interpreting for family/friends isNOTsufficient.
• Must be willing to get a background check including Federal, State, and Child Abuse Registry
• Must have reliable phone service for contact.
• Must be comfortable with using a computer for job input.
