Job summary

BMO is seeking an experienced Credit Risk Reviewer to conduct independent examinations of credits and portfolios, ensuring risk rating accuracy and asset quality. You will advise on credit policies, collaborate with senior leaders, and drive improvements in internal control and governance processes to protect BMO’s reputation.

The role requires 15+ years in credit risk, professional designations (CPA/MBA/CFA), and strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of relevant experience and/or certification.
• Professional designations: CPA, MBA, CFA.
• Superior knowledge of all phases of effective credit administrations.
• Identify early warning signals and practices for management of problem accounts.
• Experience with loan workouts preferred.
• Strong finance and accounting skills and credit analytics.

Responsibilities

• Rate and review credit risks to assure timeliness and accuracy for assigned portfolios.
• Provide action plans for resolving material issues noted in reviews.
• Train and support internal stakeholders on risk rating and best practices.
• Collaborate with lending areas and risk management teams to align processes.
• Lead special reviews and portfolio deep dives as needed.
