Job summary
BMO Harris Bank is seeking a senior credit risk executive to lead independent credit adjudication and portfolio management for U.S. Life and P&C insurance clients.
The role partners with Investment Banking, Corporate Banking, and Capital Markets to assess complex exposures against risk appetite and policies. The successful candidate will bring deep insurance sector expertise, regulatory understanding, and strong executive presence to influence structures, risk mitigants, and senior leadership
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in credit risk, counterparty risk, or financial institutions.
- Significant coverage of U.S. Life Insurance or P&C sectors.
- Strong lending and credit underwriting expertise, including capital markets products.
- Proven ability to present complex credit recommendations to executives.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent credit assessment and adjudication for lending, trading, and counterparty exposures.
- Approve transactions within delegated authority and escalate when needed.
- Assess borrower creditworthiness via financial performance, liquidity, and risk profile.
- Evaluate products including facilities, derivatives, securities financing, repo, and more.
- Monitor portfolio quality and communicate risk to leadership and committees.
- Lead risk mitigants, covenants, and capital structures in transaction structures.
