Job summary

United Bank is seeking a Portfolio Manager to oversee underwriting, portfolio administration, and credit quality for assigned credits. You will partner with lenders and stakeholders to structure financial solutions that meet client needs.

Responsibilities include end-to-end loan processes, risk assessment, and assisting in business development efforts across the local market. Strong analytical and communication skills, with familiarity in banking regulations, are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Financial Services; commercial banking exposure highly desired.
• Prior experience with loan underwriting and credit training is required.
• Ability to complete system training within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to analyze financial and project statements, corporate and personal tax returns.
• Understanding of basic loan structures and lending regulations.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication; Spanish or another language a plus.
• Travel within the local market may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support the commercial lending process through underwriting, policy knowledge, credit structuring, and risk assessment for the assigned portfolio.
• Collaborate with lenders, treasury management, and team members to grow fees, deposits, and portfolio revenue by presenting financial solutions.
• Oversee the full loan request process from preliminary evaluation to data entry in the commercial database and preparing a term sheet.
• Assist lenders in sales calls to support account details and relationship building.
• Serve as primary liaison with internal/external stakeholders including Bank departments, customers, attorneys, and lenders.
