Job summary

Del Norte Credit Union is seeking a Credit Counselor I to work with members on delinquent loan accounts, evaluate financial situations, and negotiate repayment solutions. The role supports loss prevention, ensures policy compliance, and maintains accurate documentation while delivering excellent member service.

The position requires one to three years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and strong organizational skills to monitor trends and collaborate with teams to improve loan

Qualifications

• One to three years of collections experience.
• High school education or GED required.
• Ability to analyze financial information and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Contact delinquent members by phone, mail, and other approved methods to resolve past-due loan accounts.
• Analyze members' financial situations, credit reports, and repayment capacity to recommend solutions.
• Negotiate payment arrangements and debt resolution plans to restore accounts to good standing.
• Process member requests, payments, loan extensions, and related claims accurately.
