Job summary

AppleOne is seeking an AR Credit & Collections Specialist in Bakersfield, CA to own daily accounts receivable activities, credit decisions, and collections for a busy team.

You will contact customers, negotiate payments, review credit information, and document arrangements. The role includes credit decisions up to $50,000 and approvals up to $100,000, with a 6-month assignment and potential to extend.

Qualifications

• MUST HAVE 3+ years of recent Collections experience
• Strong collections, billing, reconciliation and credit experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent negotiation and customer service skills
• Proficiency with Excel and standard business software

Responsibilities

• Manage daily AR and collection activities to secure timely payments.
• Contact customers by phone, email and other channels regarding past-due balances and payment commitments.
• Negotiate payment terms and document all arrangements.
• Review credit applications, credit reports, and financial information to evaluate customer creditworthiness.
• Make independent credit decisions up to $50,000 and recommend credit approvals up to $100,000.
• Establish and maintain customer credit limits based on company policies and risk guidelines.
• Monitor accounts for changes in credit risk, overdue invoices, and extended rental periods.
• Investigate and resolve billing, payment, and account discrepancies.
• Partner with internal teams to resolve customer billing and service issues.
• Maintain accurate customer information and records using ERP and collections systems.
• Document customer communications, payment arrangements, and follow-ups.
• Assist with credit and collections process improvements.

Are you an experienced Accounts Receivable & Collections professional ready for your next opportunity? We’re looking for a confident, detail-oriented AR Credit & Collections Specialist to join a busy team and take ownership of customer accounts, credit decisions, collections, and account resolution.
