Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking an Audit Manager to support the U.S. Audit Director and Senior Audit Manager. The role covers audits of U.S. Banking and North American segments, assessing control design, credit risk, governance, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include audit planning, execution, credit assessments, governance reviews, and advisory engagements. Hybrid work with on-site days; salary range reflects Chicago posting but varies by location.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with 7–10 years of relevant retail lending or credit risk management experience.
• 5+ years retail credit experience and 5+ years audit experience.
• Solid knowledge of internal controls and risk assessment.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Banking Regulations.

Responsibilities

• Audit execution: assist in planning and testing; document work papers and test procedures.
• Credit assessment: provide independent risk assessment of loans against policies.
• Governance assessment: evaluate risk governance over credit portfolios and risk appetite alignment.
• Regulatory review: evaluate compliance with U.S. banking laws and policies.
• Business operations: assess end-to-end processes supporting credit administration and risk management.
• Data analytics: apply data analytics to identify trends and deficiencies.
• Client relationship management: communicate findings and close open questions with clients.
• Risk assessment & change: identify changes to credit risk and regulatory developments for impact.
