Job summary

Byline Bank is seeking an Internal Audit Manager in the Chicago area to lead risk-based audits across banking functions. You will evaluate governance, risk management, and internal controls, delivering independent assurance and advisory services to senior leadership and the Audit Committee.

The role supports a hybrid work arrangement, mentors junior auditors, and drives continuous improvement of the audit function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 6-7+ years of experience in external or internal audit within financial services.
• Strong knowledge of internal controls and risk assessment methodologies.
• Leadership experience in audit and team development.
• Experience with banking environments and knowledge of banking regulations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead audit engagements from planning through reporting.
• Execute testing of higher risk areas and oversee risk assessments.
• Oversee scoping and testing work program development; assist with draft reports.
• Coach and develop audit staff; provide credible challenge to management.
• Oversee ICFR testing and annual plan development; support regulatory exams.
