Job summary

Buyers Edge Platform in Bannockburn, IL, seeks a Credit and Collections Manager to lead the division’s credit risk, manage AR, and drive timely collections while mentoring the team and implementing best practices.

You will partner with Billing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve disputes, improve cash application, and monitor KPIs, aging, and DSO to strengthen financial controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full credit and collections function for the division, including credit approvals, account monitoring, and collection of past-due receivables.
• Establish and maintain credit policies, procedures, and approval limits; evaluate new and existing customer credit applications and set appropriate limits.
• Monitor AR aging and drive reduction of past-due balances and DSO through proactive collection strategies.
• Manage escalated/high-risk accounts, including payment plans and coordination with outside agencies as needed.
• Partner with Billing, Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve disputes, deductions, and billing discrepancies.
• Collaborate with Resolution and Cash Application teams to ensure timely and accurate cash application and reconciliation.

Job description

The Credit and CollectionsManager will lead the credit and collections function for the FreshDivision, managing customer credit risk and driving the timely collection ofaccounts receivable. This role will develop an in-depth knowledge of thedivision's customers, AR systems, and processes, and work to reduce past-duebalances and DSO, strengthen credit policies, and drive best practices andefficiencies, while overseeing collection activities and mentoring anddeveloping the team.

• Manage the full creditand collections function for the division, including credit approvals,account monitoring, and collection of past-due receivables.
• Establish and maintaincredit policies, procedures, and approval limits; evaluate new andexisting customer credit applications and set appropriate credit limitsand terms.
• Monitor the AR aging anddrive reduction of past-due balances and DSO through proactive,prioritized collection strategies.
• Manage escalated andhigh-risk accounts, including payment plans, credit holds, andcoordination with outside collection agencies and legal counsel as needed.
• Partner with Billing,Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve disputes, deductions,and billing discrepancies that delay payment.
• Collaborate with theResolution and Cash Application teams to ensure timely and accurate cashapplication and reconciliation of customer accounts.
• Prepare and presentweekly and monthly AR reporting, including aging, DSO, cash collectionforecasts, and team KPIs, to Finance and Division leadership.
• Recommend bad debtreserves and account write-offs and support month-end close activitiesrelated to AR.
• Key leader/contributoron system initiatives, working with IT to drive automation and bestpractices in credit and collections workflows.
• Ensure compliance withinternal controls and company policies across all credit and collectionsactivities.
• Coach and mentor thecredit and collections team, setting clear goals and measuring performanceagainst KPIs.
