Job summary

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) in Bolivar, MO, is seeking a Credentialing Specialist to join the Medical Staff Services team. You will lead credentialing activities to ensure providers meet bylaws, regulatory, and accrediting standards, performing primary source verification and maintaining secure files.

The role requires Bachelor's in a healthcare field (or nursing) and at least two years in a healthcare setting, with strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field or nursing degree preferred.
• Two years of experience in a healthcare-related field required; credentialing/medical staff office experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational and computer skills; ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support Medical Staff Services by ensuring providers meet hospital bylaws, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
• Verify and maintain documentation for initial and re-credentialing of medical staff and allied professionals.
• Conduct primary source verification of education, licensure, board certification, work history, malpractice, and references.
• Update provider information in the credentialing database; ensure secure paper and electronic files.
• Track expiring credentials and send renewal reminders to providers.
• Prepare credentialing files for review by Credentialing Coordinator, Committee and Board.
