Job summary

Mercy Hospital St. Louis is seeking a Credentialing Specialist for on-site, full-time day shifts.

The role ensures verification of thousands of practitioner files for appointments and reappointments, and involves compiling applications, entering data, and communicating with applicants to complete credentialing requirements. The position requires a Bachelor's degree, credentialing experience is preferred, and CPCS/CPMSM certification is desirable.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; data entry or credentialing experience may substitute.
Previous credentialing or database entry experience preferred; detail oriented and able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment.
Certifications: CPCS and/or CPMSM preferred; must be passed within two years of eligibility.

Responsibilities

Coordinate verification of approximately 8,000 practitioner files for initial appointment and reappointment within established time frames according to accrediting standards.
Prepare and send applications; gather, enter and verify information from applicants to complete their file.
Communicate verbally and in writing with applicants to finalize their credentialing processes.
Adapt to expedited requests while maintaining Mercy Service Standards.
