Job summary

Animal Medical Services (Blue Ridge) in Mount Airy, NC is seeking a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, and client education.

You will assist with exams, monitor vital signs, collect samples, perform in-hospital testing, operate radiography equipment, and help educate clients with warmth and professionalism. The practice offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• State license to practice as a veterinary technician in the state of employment.
• Experience with Ezyvet PIMS is preferred.
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; PPE safety techniques.
• Basic computer skills and math for dosages.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery as needed.
• Assist outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, plus client education.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vitals during surgery.
• Obtain samples; perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs.
• Take, develop, and maintain radiographs with proper safety procedures.
• Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms; assist others to keep public areas neat.
