Job summary

Veterinary Hospital at the Lake in Sherrills Ford, NC seeks a Credentialed Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, labs, and client education.

The successful candidate will hold a state license, be available for on-call shifts, and demonstrate compassion, teamwork, and excellent communication while helping deliver high-quality care to small animals in a full-service practice.

Qualifications

• State license to work as a veterinary technician in the target state.
• Available for on-call shifts (30 days' notice).
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, with assistance for heavier lifts.
• OSHA PPE safety techniques.
• Basic computer skills and MS Office familiarity.
• Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians in anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and nursing.
• Take histories, vital signs, weights, and provide client education in outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor during procedures.
• Collect samples and run in-hospital labs; process specimens for outside labs.
• Take radiographs following safety procedures.
• Handle and restrain animals during exams.
• Administer medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms and equipment.
• Demonstrate warmth and professionalism in all client interactions.
• Communicate with veterinarians and staff about patient plans and concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
