Job summary

Pinnacle Animal Hospital in North Carolina is seeking Credentialed Veterinary Technicians to join a team serving Asheville, Arden, Fletcher and surrounding areas. The role supports veterinarians with anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, lab work, patient nursing, and client education.

Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available. The hospital emphasizes compassionate care, teamwork, and excellent client communication in a busy, patient-focused environment.

Qualifications

  • State license to work as a certified/licensed/registered veterinary technician.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; with assistance for heavier loads.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE.
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Office.
  • Basic math and ability to calculate medication dosages.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery and other tasks as needed.
  • Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights, and providing client education.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during surgery.
  • Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restrain animals during exams.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment and lab areas; restock supplies and assist others to keep public areas clean.
