Job summary

YMCA of Metropolitan Los Angeles is seeking a High School Tutor for after-school programs at a North Valley/Porter Ranch LAUSD campus. You will provide subject-specific tutoring in Math, Science, or English Language Arts, in small groups, and help students build confidence and mastery.

The role is part-time, seasonal, following the school calendar, typically 1–2 days per week with about 4 hours weekly. Previous teaching credential and teen tutoring experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid California Teaching Credential.
• Experience working with teens in an educational setting.
• Subject matter expertise in Math, Science, or ELA.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring in Math, Science, or English Language Arts to high school students.
• Create a welcoming, supportive learning environment and monitor progress.
• Collaborate with YMCA staff to identify student needs and celebrate growth.
• Follow school calendar and contribute to after-school program activities.
