Job summary

VEG ER for Pets is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line emergency team in Pittsburgh. You will handle triage, treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring, and critical care nursing with a compassionate presence for pet parents in stressful moments.

This role requires a CVT/RVT/LVT/LVMT credential, 1+ year of experience in a veterinary tech role, and ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited associate degree preferred.
• Credentialed as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the practice state; VTS in ECC/medicine/anesthesia a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Ability to stand for long hours; lift up to 25 kg; willingness to work nights/weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Triage and treat patients, provide nursing care and emotional support.
• Deliver nursing care and treatments in critical moments from triage to discharge.
• Handle IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and monitoring.
• Communicate effectively as a team member and help shape care plans.
