Job summary

Essenti Talent is seeking a Technical Designer for our client in New York City who will drive technical documentation and ensure top product quality from concept through production. The role requires strong attention to detail and collaboration across design, development, and manufacturing teams.

You’ll develop tech packs, BOMs, and fit documentation, participate in live-model fit sessions, and work with pattern makers to meet brand standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in fashion design, technical design, or related field.
• 3–5 years of Technical Design experience within the apparel industry.
• Experience with women's apparel; outerwear or activewear is a plus.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and CAD software.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, patternmaking, grading, and fit evaluation.
• Exceptional attention to detail and clear communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed tech packs, BOMs, packaging requirements, care/content labels, carton markings, and related documentation.
• Conduct and participate in fit sessions using live models and analyze fit with vendors.
• Review prototypes, fit samples, and pre-production garments with pattern makers and manufacturing partners.
• Ensure all samples meet standards for fit, quality, construction, and design intent before production.
• Collaborate with Design, Product Development, Production, and external partners to support product execution.
