Job summary

Michaels is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan and run in-store events at our Richmond, VA location, including kids' birthday parties and crafting classes. You’ll guide guests through activities, teach simple crafts, and upsell event add-ons while ensuring a fun, safe, shop-friendly atmosphere.

In addition to coordinating events, you will assist customers with product selections, enrollment in Rewards and Private Label Credit Card programs, and contribute to a fast, friendly checkout

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality suited for a retail environment.
• Strong people skills and customer service experience are essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, plus listening abilities.
• Experience working with children and running events is preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and creative problem-solving abilities are required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events, including children’s parties and crafts.
• Engage customers of all ages and provide fast, friendly checkout support.
• Demonstrate crafts and supervise activities like face painting.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) and communicate events to clients and staff.
• Handle emails, calls, and administrative tasks related to events.
